Legal Malpractice

"Legal malpractice" refers to a claim which you can bring against a lawyer. In order to succeed in a claim for legal malpractice, you must prove that the lawyer was negligent and, as a result, you lost money.

There are many different reasons why people sue lawyers; for example, a lawyer may fail to file a client's case on time or may fail to give a client the appropriate legal advice. Generally, you must prove your case through the testimony of an expert lawyer.

By law there are short time periods (statutes of limitations) for bringing a claim for legal malpractice and it is always better to examine the issues earlier rather than later. If you think you have a claim against an attorney, you should contact a lawyer as soon as possible to protect any rights you have. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your case.
